I'll never forget the C&C was that crazy "gotch"
Colonel told us that he wanted the grunts on the ground "most chop chop" and that we were to circle 1 click west of the drop-zone, and as soon as the bomb went off we were to start the insertion.....Wellllllll the S.O.B never told us how hot the ground would be after that damn bomb went off the first elements were screaming and shouting not only because they had to jump, but the ground was so hot it was melting the boots off the troops!!! Then we had to go back in and figure out how we were going to get the poo bastards out!!!!! What A R/F!!!! with a capitalR/F.
We wound up laddering am roping the the poor guys out of that place.....
