God!!!!
Bob, do you remember the shipping strike of 68 when we couldnt get fresh beer at the class six store....All we could get was Ballantine Ale in steel cans and it was so old that the cans were rusted together, man that stuff tasted worse than well, you can imagine, we don't need to bring horses into our discussion. Seems like a month went by and no fresh beer, I thought "Mac" was going to have to go the dispensary for "Bud" withdrawal treatment.... then one day me and Appgar after having guns fixed at Dynalectron just happened to fly over the Seabee storage yard and lo and behold there must have been a "billion" pallets of Bud stacked in their yard. We went to another helicopter unit and borrowed a sling and went back to see the Seabees!!!! we hovered over a pallet and Touchstone and ,man, I can't remember who was flying gunner that day, jumped out rigged a sling in about 2 minutes, and we re gone! we flew all the way back to Holloway at 60 knts. from Qui Nhon. Mack was a happy camper. I remember just as we were lifting off with our sling load a couple of sailors were trying to chase us down in a jeep shaking their fists at us...
