gross weight aircraft, with a full load of fuel, fourteen rockets, and four trays of mini the aircraft was about 13,000 lbs.
I recall sometime in late 68 or early 69 1st. Aviation Bde. sent down a memo from the "Ivory Tower" in Nha Trang that if your aircraft would not hover at take-off time at 7a.m. the aircraft was not mission ready, and that it was a red X condition we only had one charley model that would hover at take-off time the first day of the new directive, that directive lasted one day.
