I used to feel guilty, when I was a slick driver, on ash and trash missions, We'd land on those firebases with cases of c-rats and beer, and sometomes mermite cans of chow, flight crew with shave, haircut, showered and shaved and you guys smelling like sulpher, and cordite, and sweat, and covered in that beautiful red dirt of ll corp, or sometimes transporting during the monsoon with the doors closed, I don't know how you stood it, but I guess you were all in the same boat and did'nt notice it much. My heart went out to the grunts
