Ah yes, the Thanksgiving MRE. The dehydrated turkey was a little tough to stuff but once cooked was a savory meal for one... The best part was the powdered cranbury sauce, a little water and whoala, just like the mess hall use to make... and the pumpkin pie was "hold me back" good, always amazed me at how they got the pie crust and pumpkin filling into one compact bar like that and still managed to keep that wet cardboard taste.. mmmmm.

Ok, what it really was,

"The dehydrated turkey was a little tough to stuff" It was really a pork patty that came in a 3x3 square.

"The best part was the powdered cranbury sauce" Was really powdered ketchup. If you didn't stir it well it made lumps that could have passed for pieces of cranbury...

"and the pumpkin pie was "hold me back" good" Was really a "John Wayne" bar or as us Tankers use to call it a track pad... If you ate them regularly with some yellow cheese on it you could effectively throw away the toilet paper, but you were going to need the medics in 10 days or less....
