The Confederate Air Force is HQ'd there, and they are doing a special seminar (sponsored by the American Airpower Heritage Museum) this weekend about both "The Helicopter War" and "The Media and the War." Joe Galloway is the featured speaker, with Prof. Douglas Pike of Texas Tech, the leading scholar of Vietnam and our war there, and then Bruce Crandall, Chuck Oualline, and I are on some sort of panel.

Crandall was the CO of one of the 1st Cav helicopter companies in the Ia Drang valley, at LZ X-Ray, in Nov 1965. Oualline was one of the 119th pilots who dropped Joe into the Plei Me SF camp a month before that. Why I'm there, I don't know. Galloway thinks I am entertaining once in a while, I guess.

The original plan, subject to medical scheduling, was for Jack and I to meet there. I will see that Croc426 is remembered, along with your brother of course, and along with all the others.
