That baby was built about two miles from the house I grew up in. They flew their test flights right around our hacienda.
That's an Air Farce "Pedro" -- a Kaman Aircraft "Huskie" rescue ship. It was designed more for crash rescue than combat rescue thingees, had huge downwash which they used to great effect on crash fires to drive flames back from firefighters. They did modify some of them and used them for combat SAR stuff, also. HH-43 I think, maybe?
