March '69 was tough. Our sister company (C/1/35) had 30 WIA's 1 March '69. On 6 March '69 2 EM from 3/8 walked into our perimeter (LZ Mary, Dak to) both were wounded. They apparently got separated from their unit in the earlier contact. 2/B/1-35 and 2/A/2-8 also had contact 6 March '69 on hill 600, Polei Kleng. There were many units operating in the area during that time frame. B/1/35 was OPCON to 1st Bde, 3/8 5 March '69 and later we were OPCON to 1/69. George, on 14 March '69 the 1/35 relieved C/1-22 on Fire Support Base 34 (Dak To). The 4th Div. probably had all three Bde's in the area 3/8, 1/22, 3/12, 1/14, 1/69, 2/8 are some of the units mentioned in the Daily Journals. Also of note was the 4 March '69 contact at Ben Het Special Forces Camp with the 10 PT 76 amphibious NVA tanks. The 1/69 had to rush some Heat ammo all the way from Saigon to counter the NVA tanks.
