You mentioned the pistol, well I carried the .45, and it did just exactly what it was supposed to do. Couldn't shoot worth a damn, but it made a lot of noise, and you could change the magazines quickly if you needed to (reloading was quick if the next to the last shot was a tracer). The real purpose of the pistol was the fact that it made a great nut cover, put it over your nuts when you were flying and you felt that your nuts were safe.
