I think "mad minute" is a misnomer. Some of them lasted somewhat longer than a minute. I was assigned to a foxhole on the left of bunker 6 (one of the old French built bunkers) with Ted Pemberton (when he was in maintenance) and Bill Brubaker. Ted had the 60, Bill had the 79 and I had a 14. On several occasions I remember wading through brass and ammo links above my ankles. And with all of the pilots and crewmen lining the trenches, it's a wonder that there was still grass out front.
I wonder if you remember the times when we had "Puff" pay us a little visit?
