Didn't any of you hear about the refrigerator that was widely used in Viet Nam? They would bury what ever it was they wanted to keep cold in a shady spot near a creek or river. The damp ground plus the running water would cool what was buried or keep it cold. That's how they kept that great smelling fish fresh to cook with their rice.
