I was outside today working on a project and heard the familiar whop, whop, whop of a Huey. I looked up and sure as hell there she was, don't know if it was a twin engine or not but it sure as hell was a Huey. I started crying and didn't stop until the sound faded away. It is so hard to believe that I spent so much time in one of those beautiful birds, it was so long ago that it seems like a dream. This site keeps that dream alive and allows me to speak of crying without shame, being proud of who I am, was and will be. I haven't been close to a UH-1 since I left the army in 1976 but I could still pull a periodic inspection with my eyes closed. Those were the best of times and the worst of times.......
