Yes, it brings back memories. After reading that report it made me better understand (even now) why those guys had such big smiles on their faces when we would come in to resupply them, bring them hot chow or come to get them out.

The guys from FOB-2 really appreciated us, even if they did have to ride about 40 miles in the air dangling from the end of that McGuire rig. Imagine the stories THEY are teling today!!! (big smile)

I can say I loved my job. I loved helping people and to the best of my knowledge (and memory) I never said no. I may have bitched, but I don't think I said no.

I learned how to bitch in Basic. That's one of the reason's I was promoted to E-2 out of Basic, ya know. We used to go through "Tiger Land" (Fort Polk for those that may not have had the privilege) on the weekend (when we were off) just to "go see." We were in awe.
