Dennis,

I have talked to several crewmembers and it sometimes depended on the pilot. The Crocs A/C flew right seat because of the rockets. We had one pilot in first flight Mr. Moon who prior to coming to the platoon was a maintenance officer prefered the right seat and was actually better on that side. He was A/C for Gator 834 before Bon-Bon got the ship. Most of the guys that I have talked to that were with the Cav in the early days have said the A/C did fly right seat. All in what was comfortable. I know crewchiefs flew left side so we could moniter the gauges.I know I watched the torque gauge many times as we tried to get out of an landing zone. Some times you guys up front were busy doing pilot shit like flying and playing with the radios or turning your heads asking us "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?" I flew as gunner a couple times and being on that side of the ship screwed me up real bad. All I can say is "Clear Left."
