You could be wrong but not this time, Carl. Most of us are wrong about half the time; but in this case you is right, bud.

Aircraft Commander almost everywhere always sat on the left, lots of reasons.

Just to be sure about the Cav at X-Ray, like maybe there was a reason they did it differently, I emailed Bruce Crandall about ACs in right seat. His (on the level) answer:

"Movie is wrong. They did it for photographic reasons. M-60s were not yet mounted and we had 229th insignia on the noses but that does go in Hollywood..."

No big deal. Photographic reasons is good, far as I'm concerned. Somehow easier to swallow knowing they did it on purpose rather than stupidly. Plus Bruce worked as Tech Consultant, so he would not let them do something that off, without a good reason. Anyway, who cares? Great movie.
