We of the 119th are proud of our history of working together with the men of our unit, we formed into teams and worked as teams, and we learned from each other. All of our men were capable of making inputs, and those inputs would be heard. That is why our unit was the favorite of the SOG, and they told us so many times. That and the fact that our people were known for having the courage and conviction to perform any task placed before us. We had courage and conviction because as pilots we trusted our crews and we listened to what they said. We as teams were good because we worked as a team, not as a god in the front and passengers with guns in the back.

I flew for other units several times on my days off and I told those crews what I expected of them before the flight. Several of those crews said that they felt like that they were part of the crew for the first time. We in the 119th learned from the people before us, and it was our duty to teach those who came after us. That is why the 119th was good, and we knew it. And we never left an American or someone fighting with us behind, they were our brothers, whether they liked us or not.
