15 Jan 1969

The 7/17 Cav had a Cobra shot down, the Blue's from the 7/17 were on the ground and surrounded. 3/D/1-35 was alerted to reinforce. They went in at dark to a hot LZ and jumped out of the choppers very high off the ground. Some EM's sustained broken ankles. The balance of D/1-35 went in and married up with the 7/17. The 7/17 was whistling "Dixie" to help D/1-35 locate them.
