The VA has changed a lot in 30 years, they now have some of the best facilities available. They are generally a teaching hospital, but you have to remember where the study of medicine came from. All of our brothers in the past, whose wounds, illnesses, and other problems were the things that the medical profession was built on. Read your history, and take a real good look at the VA, they are no longer the cesspool of the past and they do good work in many cases. I know for I have had to use them extensively. Once you learn the system, they will do well by you.
