Also being a "card-carrying Yankee" I can honestly say Texas sounds like my kind of place!!

I thought I was getting close when I moved "East of the River" here in Connecticut but it's still nothing near what you just described. As a matter of fact, with all the new homes being built here, it's starting to look like a mini-Glastonbury! (Only a CT resident would appreciate THAT!)

Maybe I should turn in my 2-week notice at work in August and plan on taking my truck and pole out West! Well, actually, I'd have to go buy a fishing pole but who's counting????

PS Tom, Oregon doesn't sound so bad, either. I've never been there but have always wanted to make the trip from Northern California on up to Alaska! Maybe in my next life!
