So then you finally left... when? Of course, you never, ever did nuthin' except futz around inside the wire, right, Davey?
Ya know Bob, I only crawled out through the wire a couple times. It was a bear gettin' past those trip flares and those pop cans with the rocks in 'em. Besides there might of been some maniac
Irishman armed with a 60 and a jug of Bushmills on one of the bunkers waitin' to take me out, so I usually exited through the main gate.
I would have ETSed on the 15th of June '69 if I hadn't tacked 15 days on the end of my first leave, when you could get away with it. When I took my second leave if ya did that you could spend about 6 months in LBJ, so I returned after 30 days that time. So, and this ain't no BS, I left on 30 Jun '69.
Futz?? What the H_ _ _ is this futz?? Ya know I worked real hard while I wuz there. You and yer pilot pals useta take those fine flying machines out and slam the pedals around until every rivet in the tailboom had a white ring around it
then bring 'em back punched full of holes and expect guys like me to make them new again. It wuz a lota work.
Have a little respect fer a hard workin' guy.
Hugz 'n' kisses
from Davey
