How To Be a Crewchief

Spring has come to the Chicagoland area and of course it's snowing so how about another add on list.

1. The only difference between crewchiefs and pilots are that pilots passed the flight school test.

2. Crewchief are between the ages of 18 and 20 years old. Any older and they would have enough good sense not to fly.

3. Have the ability to explan to new peter-pilots that they are not allowed to touch anything. The only reason they are in that right seat is because we were unable to find a 160 lb. rock to use as a counter balance.

4. Being able to respond to the A/C's question of "What was that?" as several AK-47 rounds strike your tail boom.

5. Have enough friends in maintenance to steal the things you need to keep your ship flying.

6. Having a Tech.Inspector that will go along with the Red "X" you have been keeping secret so you can ground your ship for a day off.

7. Make the platoon sgt. believe you are that crazy and the last thing he would want to do is give you some work detail on your day off.

8. Being able to convince your gunner to help with the post-flight inspection knowing he is just as tired as you are.

9. Conning the peter-pilot into letting you fly right seat home so you can get some "stick time" and he is stuck in the back where you normally sit.

10. Being able to sleep on the top your ship and nobody will bother you.

I'll bet we can come up with 50 more before we start on the pilots.
