No kidding. There was one, a Pathfinder, over there when I was there --- called Tennessee. It seemed like everyplace we went, Tennessee was already there and had pretty much secured the area. Even in Cambodia in May 70, he and his team were in no-man's land directing everything from traffic to redleg.

I think by the later years, at least in 70 from my perspective, it seemed like the only SF's we had were mostly at B and C team levels. There were some A teams out of Kontum doing FOB/SOG and such, but by then they were mostly being supported by the 170th. And if memory serves, we were mostly supporting MACV, 4th Inf, 173rd AB, and 42nd and 47th ARVN Regts. We did a lot of ferrying of 'Yards to and from the C and B team pads; and worked A teams during the Dak Seang siege; but that was about it.

We did go over and plant some "trees" occasionally. Then had to go back and "harvest" them later. I never did know who those guys were. They were very serious dudes.
