Bob,

Of course BonBon always turned left, he was the AC and he sat on the left, he had a better command of the approach. A high overhead approach does not come near the drop of a Corbin Spin, and it is much more controlled. You do drop out at a high rate of speed, but it ain't no spin. I took Major General Donn A. Starrey into the Louisville, Ky airport with traffic approaching on intersecting runways, I declaired my landing code and requested a high overhead approach after clearing it with MG Starrey. The approach allowed me to land directly to the tower yet I did not cross either runway below 1000 ft AGL. The entire approach was North of the East-West runway and West of the North-South runway, and when the aircraft decended to the tarmac to hover over to the hotspot appearantly the world had been watching. From then on they requested that we do high overhead approaches, for we didn't impact their traffic flow. It is nothing more than a circling approach with a high rate of decent.
