You need to point out to the DAV that you have a Purple Heart and according to 38 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) anyone who has received a Combat Award, such as your Purple Heart, are not required to provide a stressor letter for the purpose of determining if you have stresses from your combat experience. In order to answer your second requirement, go to the Social Security Office and get a listing of your employment history. That will satisfy their requirement for your economic status. The number of employment opportunities that have been held and lost over your life will provide more information than they can handle, and it will show the last employment and the duration thereof.
