When I was stationed at Ft. Eustis I got the chance to ride in a OV-1 Mohawk. I was never keen on fixed wing aircraft but that was one ship that I got learn to love.

After spending so many hours in the back of a Huey it was quite the ride. First of all it's real quiet. No wind blowing in your face or the sound of the main rotor blades beating the air. Tons of power and the thing can turn on a dime. I thought the G-force on some of our turns were bad but the pilot pulled a climb then nosed it over to the left and I thought my head was going into my belly. We flew along the coast from Va. to Ft Bragg NC and back that day. That was about the only day of stateside duty that was any fun at all. I would still give anything to ride in a Navy Tomcat or F-4. That would be a rush!
