I guess this was as close as he was going to get with such short notice. His daughter is recovering from cancer and is on some special list for priority housing so they were put on the top of the list for that, but nothing was going to be available soon enough. Besides, his wife has 3 kids and along with my Granddaughter, they needed a BIG place! Not to mention he has a car he is restoring, so he needed a garage for that. Maybe there just wasn't anything on base big enough for them - not sure.

He's pretty flexible when it comes to coping and getting along with what he can. You are right, though, about the medal - he deserves one for taking on a family with so many kids in the first place! They are all under the age of 9! But, for the most part he's just a big kid himself so they all get along OK!

I'll let you know exactly where he is as soon as I find out!
