I have to agree with you on that, Carl, and it doesn't appear we are getting any wiser about all this either.

We had an incident here in CT the other day where 3 men of Indian (as in India) background were spotted on the top of a water tower at one of our local reservoirs with a video camera. This reservoir is fenced off, with signs all over about not entering the area and all we've talked about is how we have been "securing" the reservoirs around here. The police were called and they were arrested. Seems they had just bought the camera and were trying it out!!! The police said OK and let them go. WHAT???????

How in hell did they get in there in the first place? Why did they have to go there to "try out their camera"? Did anyone think that maybe the camera was just an "excuse" covering up something else - like scoping out the area or seeing how easy it would be to put something in the water? Why in hell were they let go? The comment by the news media when they stated the police had been called and the men arrested was - "see, our security systems are really working!" Maybe they also believe if a terrorist reads a sign that says "keep out" he'll actually do what it says!!
With that kind of attitude, I wouldn't be surprised if Bin Laden walked right into the White House and blew up the President for crying out loud!

How far down in the sand do we need to put our heads before we realize we are still apt to get our asses blown off???
