Can you imagine how boring we would be if we had gone to Nam and they had never invented the internet? We would be still telling the same lies but now we have somebody to share them and actually remember them happening.

I don't know about anybody else but after Nam I became the most boring person on the planet. And I liked it that way. The days of walking on the skids,throwing rubbers full of paint on the market place,going into a Hot LZ to pull a team of LRRPs out were great but how do you return home and have anything like that to compare with? The most excitement I had was when we were potty training my oldest son and he decided to stand outside on the step and practice his new found art on the bushes. My wife had a fit and she just didn't understand why I laughed so hard I cried. Every now and then the Nam humor sneaks up on you and I remember something that somebody did or said. Not all of what happened over there was a bad thing. Boring is nice because there was once a time when nothing was boring.
