Carl, the unit was originally the 81st Transportation Co., and was attached to the 25 Inf. Div. at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. They were flying CH-21 "Flying Bananas". I'm not sure about the date it arrived in-country, but I think it was sometime in 1962. The unit was re-organized as the 119th Aviation Co. (Assault) sometime around 1963 when they got Hueys to replace the Bananas. I think it got re-organized again around the time the 52 CAB arrived; maybe '64 or '65.

Stand-down officially occurred on Oct. 31, 1970; as that was the last day we flew any missions; and they were all Admin runs. November 1970 was spent packing, and re-assigning equipment and personnel.
