Brothers and Sisters:
Sincerely regret lack of comms past few days (more like a week). Been very busy with work and the fast pace of life in the DC area -
Had you all in my heart at the Wall, and visited in spirit with our Family there- altho I COMPLETELY missed Tom (GATOR 851) and Mark, due to not having a cell phone with me.
It was a great time, nonetheless- our Heroes were once again honored, as they will always be.
Get this, Gang- anybody know Gator Sandy Guynn, (gwinn) from 'bout 67-68 timeframe-??
How 'bout Mike Noschkin, about the same time??
I met up with a 281st Guns pilot, Walter Stobe,
at the Nurses' Memorial, and he saw my 1st Avn Bde hatpin, and rushed over to ask me "who, when, and where?" I told him about the 119th, and he just had to have one of DockaBob's GREAT tatoos on his
forearm. I applied it, and soon after, several others guys wanted one. I had a canteen and handkerchief, so I applied no less than fifteen of the 20 or so you sent, Bob. (gimme more, pls???)
Hennyweigh, later a guy saw mine (tatto) and intro'd himself as Sandy Guynn. He lives south of Shreveport, and sez he might make the reunion.
I have info to contact him.
On the way over to the Wall, I spoke with some Co. A, 1st Bn, 27th Inf WOLFHOUNDS, and one asked me with whom I served, and when I mentioned the 119th, one said- WHAT??? SO DID I !!!
Mike Noschkin is a huge American Indian from Georgia, and he said he was a gunner in 67-68, if I recall correctly...( I was so overwhelmed, I may be mistaken), In any case. it was a hellacious day for all of us.
Hate to run now, but gotta work.
Count me in for the reunion, Maybe. That's the best I can do today... I'll give it my best shot.
By the way, Paul Revere and the Raiders, and Nancy Sinatra ROCKED>>>>
