Saw some pics last night of the pad at the top of
Nui Ba Din, near Saigon. Flat ground as far as you can see, and out of nowhere, an almost perfect conical mound 990 meters high, with a postage-stamp sized top. Had a buddy who landed there several times, and he sez it was different every time. The thermals, or currents, or turbulence, or pucker factor were always a factor.
Many birds fell down the side.
