Food and Entertainment

MB..
Food:
The military rations are at the commissary, but don't know, yet, what they have. Would prefer to bring a small grill, etc. to cook some foiled sweet potato, veggies, and chops, steaks,or hamburgers....unless Baby H.or his crew of capable survivalists are providing a larger grill surface we can all use!!

Not sure what the "hunters" and survivalists plan on eating. I've heard Texans have some great food..but am not into gathering nuts and berries nor into chasing "snipes", birds, alligators, or large steers..

Gotta have my good coffee in the a.m...so will be definitely bringing a pot, quality coffee, sugar, and canned milk. Without this essential..become mean and dangerous by 6 a.m.

Disposable plates, etc...Gotta have!!!..most vets of this era may have Hep C coming on, too..(government just began to notify them of this possibilty) Oh yes, bathroom tissue, soap, towel, too, unless you are into nature's leaves..

Environmentlly, I guess you could say this pristine property will get some degree of contamination..but guess it will be mostly from you and me since all the 119th know survival with a spoon, shoelace, small book, safety pin, Boy Scout knife, and matches.

Entertainment:

Enjoy meeting some fantastically interesting people and listening to them. Those southern accents are a real kick, too!!

If rainy and muddy: We could use Dave's tractor, make a hill, find some big leaves and have a blast sliding down muddy slopes in water. doing what "elder kids" can't do around the general public for fear of being considered "strange". Mary Beth, that was what I meant about ti leave use..but should have said banana leaves. (Ti leaves good for hula skirts, leis, ropes, etc. Banana leaves wide, strong, good for cooking and sliding down muddy slopes into water.)

WE will be amongst people who probably will view such behavior as perfectly "normal"... Since most of these vets have also been contaminated to various degrees by Agent Orange, there may be some inherent brain disfuntions along with their PTSD and AGING :-))

If Papasan brings his metal detector, and I bring mine, we could go hunting for treasure. WHO or what could have lived around there in the past??

Will probably bring a good book and chill out when they start the "old time" stories..Depends on comfortablity with all and degrees of ranting, raving, crying, etc. that may ensue.

What plans do others have?? Share, please, before we arrive in the wilderness unprepared!! Caroline
