This ole boy don't do no helos no mor' neither. It aint 'cause I don't like 'em (I do) and it aint 'cause I don't think they're safe (they are) and it it aint 'cause I think fixed wings are easier (they are) and it aint 'cause I think fixed is in any way better (it aint).

But now-adays I come in towards the lz and them fixed-wing ones is BIG and OPEN. No trees. No welcoming fireworks. Float on down and land on 'em and never even have to wake from th' nap.

And my weight went from 130 to 165+ over the last couple (well, 30 or so) years - and none of it went to my legs or my shoulders (in fact, my upper torso actually fell); and I can get in a C-172 a lot easier than those dang Hillers (same-same as an OH-23) that I have access to over here.

Life does not always progress, but it does go on.
