Boy, How times changed. I do not remember any hassle about weapons in 1967. (except for some fool who fired an M-79 into the air to celebrate New years eve 66-67. (luckily it hit the runways.)) I saw air crews with Swedish Ks, Grease guns, Tommy guns, Berettas, old French burp guns and all kinds of stuff in addition to the usual GI issue suspects. And some of that had been cut down and modified. (I personally carried an m79 with shot gun rounds.) The Property book officer would have been horified if he had to log and account for all that stuff. Any others during 66-67 remember any problems? Maybe that is why later guys had to sign papers concerning unauthorized weapons-) sorry lads-)))
