You're right on the money, Bob-

the days of the "flower child- pure and innocent peace-loving hippie" are GONE.

the antiwar folks are those too old to remember what it's all about, or those stupid enough not to see the handwriting on The Wall....

I was in Pleiku when the Kent State, Jackson, Mississippi, and trials of the Chicago Seven went down. The Stars and Stripes and AFVN didn't tell us much- but the events were a very disturbing factor for a lot of us in the middle of the storm, because we know we were doing as we were expected to do, and it was for all the right reasons.

I never encountered resentment from the pinko pukes, but my "Welcome Home" was only from my family and friends. I was not confronted and spat upon, but I know guys who were.

The welcome for returning Desert Storm veterans is just what this country needed. It's just a shame the endeavor was not continued to complete fruition.

There are rumblings now of re-instituting the draft- it may be necessary. My son and son-in-law are "prime beef" for the mill. They will go if needed.

God help the son-of-a-bitch who gives them any shit.

Peace is great-but if ya gotta make war, ya gotta take it to the finish line.

Lumpy
