The night laager for the 80 (-) element was ZA067246. So the 86 element had not moved that far when they stumbled on the downed helicopter.

In May '69 the 1/35th was sweeping the area around LZ Oasis. LZ Oasis had a ground attack 11 May '69 and that was followed by random rocket/mortar assualts. We were looking for the rocket/mortar launching sites. When the Oasis was hit 11 May '69 the LP was captured, on 26 May '69 2/B/1-35 at location ZA032264 found 3 hooches, looked like prision, hold 4 individuals. Inside there were 2 hollow logs secured at one end, had alligator jaws. Size 8 inches by 4 inches. Logs have a hinge one one end so it will open. Logs have notches in them and found hair in them. Also found 2 musical instruments xylphone.

I have a picture of this prision, I have no way to confirm this but this is where they probably held the 4 soldiers from the LP that were captured. They were later released from North Vietnam in 1973.
