If you were the target I am sure that what you say is true. The point I was making is; if you are not he target, then maybe you could empty a 6 pack into him before he get's away. No I would not relish taking on an AR-15 with an automatic pistol but at close range, I'd chance it if I had the shot.
In Texas about every 4th person is legally carrying a pistol in a many areas and the preditor crime rate and BS has dropped significantly. The punks, crooks and psycos know there is a good chance of being killed if they mess around with citzens outside certain " Safe zones". That is why they hit at Airports exits, 7-11 clerks, etc. They know they are not armed. I personally think we should train and arm every citizen ( after proper mental checks) like the Swiss do. Armed citizens make for polite law abiding citizens. 20 years of Darwin selection will take care of the stupid ones.
