If memory serves, sometime around the end of Dec 69, the 52 CAB removed us from An Khe on account of the early Nov sapper run and put us all at Holloway. Then in Jan, after 4ID promised to provide better security, about half the unit was sent back to An Khe, and then in late Feb the rest of the unit moved back. At that time, I think we had our primary support assignments flip-flopped with the 57th, who were also at An Khe. I think we got primary support assignments to 2nd Bde at that time. Most of March and April, I worked out of Kontum for the ARVNs and the 5 SF's; and I remember both Mary and Swinger. That area around Swinger was always a warm vacation spot.

No matter who we were primarily assigned to, we managed to have some aircraft working all over II Corp on any given day, doing literally everything. That's one of the things I remember most, you never knew where you were gonna be each day, but you almost always could count on it being exciting!!
