** I tried to find you in the crowd but too many faces. Glad I brought my boots, the mud reminded me of monsoon season. **

Shakey and I bolted for home early Monday morning, Dave. It was quite a weekend. So many great people, all kinds of stuff going on, but five years until the next one is fine.

Larry Gwin, special grunt author.
Charlie Rains, VHCMA exec, ironman.
Tom Frankenfield, on duty.
Joe Galloway, scribe, exhausted but always polite.
Jon Wallenius, artful grunt.
Tom Lumpkin, the sleuth, found us in the dark, bearing gifts.
Genl. Moore, also exhausted, defining "polite" and "gentleman".
Purp Lavender, himself.
Bill Beck, grunt gunner, a wonderful savage SOB just like us.
Tim Millar, character, enough said..
Sarah Perry, helicopter pilot. I never thought I'd say it, but I'd have been proud and damned lucky to fly with her.
Chip Parker, ARA pilot.
Sam Fantino, grunt RTO, genuine gemmun. His platoon leader couldn't shake him no matter how hard he tried. And he tried hard.
So many more. So damned many more. Ten times more, all wonderful people, I just can't remember all their names right now. Many with lovely, strong wives and other great friends and kids, all so important.

We wuz just plumb wore out, just had to get rolling. Hope you did fine, Dave. I bet you did.

Thanks,
Bob
