Some things about our tours have a tendancy to stand out and remain in our minds. Some are good memories and some are horrible. That must rank with the good ones.

The only thing I remember about Thanksgiving November 66 is flying all day resupplying Fire Bases, moving Troops, delivering Hot meals, and picking up the empties until dark. Several of our deliveries were to Patrolls in the field. The LZs were one ship at best. My gunner and I finished off the day with post flight maintenance and cleanup. Dinner that night for me was c-rats. Just too tired to bother with the chow hall.It did however leave you with a good feeling that the guys in the field got a Hot Meal.
