Re: Hell Hole!!
In Response To: Hell Hole!! ()

Many of the critical components holding the helicopter to the rotor system were located in or visible from the hell hole. The flight control servos and their hoses and "B" nuts, The fuel hoses and Valves, The lift link and transmission mounts etc, If we made sure it was as spotless as possible it meant the CE was going in there. And that meant loose B nuts were not being ignored and allowed to seep and leak, it meant fuel lines were not chafed and causing a fire hazard, it meant that the hydraulic servos were being looked after and wiped down and hopefully kept servicable and secured. Next to jesus nut the hell hole was second most critical for most things. Then there was the access panel where the oil cooler and TR stuff was loacted. Don't ever let me find a rag or oil can in there LOL.
You guys put up with so much shit from us MOs, but the good MOs had an Idea why they were demanding such stuff. The bad ones never had a clue and were as dangerous as charlie.
