My least favorite duty, and I got in on the tail end of this, was waste disposal! The aroma of diesel and human waste was almost as bad as the smell of burinig flesh. Once they made th connection with lung disease they gave the task to the locals, they couldn't tell the difference from nuoc mam. No wonder I hated the smell of that stuff. The other duty I hated was flying C and C, 8,000 ft. with the doors closed, knowing that your friends were catching hell below!
