Bob, there were many of us who did our job "straight" but enjoyed pot while off duty. An alchoholic could be just as much a hazard as a pothead, who functions at 100% while hung over? I know that by my second tour there was a lot more drug use, fraggings and general discontent with the war but I never met a pothead that would risk his or another life to be stoned on duty. The story on "hard drugs" was much different as was the story on alchoholics. They did as much damage as Sir Charles. I am not making excuses for my pot use, just won't apologize for finding refuge where I could in that insanity. Neither Drugs nor alchohol were OK while on duty!
