Bob,

The flight platoon bunkers faced Highway 19 and ours was directly across from that orphanage/big rice farm. The old perimeter was just behind maint along that dirt road which run towards the Christmas tree. The new perimeter included the tree. The company area which we moved to in Jan.1969 was long that road and the tree became our new swamp. The officiers stayed in the old area as did operations. That's why we got an assistant platoon sgt. His job was to drive the pilots to the swamp and sleep in the company area. The platoon sgt. lived at the NCO barracks near Battalion. I think the reason behind that was because of the clubs being over there. They knocked down our old bunker when the 355th Sky Cranes moved into that area. The problem with the lights were trying to see behind you. They just killed your night vision.
