This is sort of interesting, Bob. I had a note from Carl LaMonica a month or so ago about this.

Carl was there from about August 63 to September 64, and has done quite a lot of research for his Camp Holloway site. He told me that all the Holloway units originally used the same "Dragon" patch, with minor variations.

(Holloway, by the way, when it opened in October of 1962, was called "Old Pleiku," then "The Country Club," then Camp Holloway.)

Carl has a picture of an early 119th AML sign that has the name "Black Dragons" painted on it. The 119th became the Black Dragons at the same time the 52d Bn took the name Flying Dragons, this at the time (6/25/63) that the units were redesignated and re-equipped with Hueys.
