from Lee:
Some of you guys know about the Museum project being done by the Ft Wolters
Chapter of the VHPA. Those of you who don't go to the website located below
and learn about it.
FWIW, we have already bought AND PAID FOR 12 acres of land just east of the
old main gate to Ft Wolters, right were US 180 crossed the railroad tracks.
The tracks are gone and the roadbed is now a nature trail (Watch out for
them copperhead snakes, Candidate!)
The site listed below shows the latest museum project, Army Aviator wings
made from melted down HUEY and Cobra tailbooms and fusalage parts. The wings
cost 30 bucks. (CHEAP). All funds go to the museum.
Bob Taylor dreamed it up and did all the work making the model for the
molds. His time money and labor are donated. We have already sold a boat
load of them to several VFW posts and such.
The wings can be viewed here

Anyhow . . . look and learn . . . and ENJOY!
Westbrook
PS: I "took" my set right off Taylor's office wall . . . I'm bigger'n him.
