Dear Lorraine,

Hi Honey!! I hope things are better with you in your last letter you said that one of your roommates was being a pain. I hope you girls can straighten that out.

I’m kind of tired right now we had a 7:30 takeoff this morning and did not get back until 7:00 tonight. It was starting to get dark when we got back and I still had my daily inspection to do and then help my gunner with the cleaning. Today we flew two CA’s in the morning and then spent the rest of the day doing re-supply. At the end of the day we took Hot Meals out to the Grunts in the field. Went to several FSB’s with Beer and Soda then we had to bring back the empty food containers. It felt good to be able to do that since the guys in the field have it pretty rough. During a hard day of flying we have to refuel several times and we also get a few brakes. Lunch is usually C-Rations there not very good but it’s better than the chow hall back at Pleiku. Still haven’t had a good meal I guess I’m just spoiled. Tomorrow is supposed to be about the same. I got some time to practice with the M60 today. One of the areas we flew over is a free fire zone. It’s pretty tough to zero in on something from a helicopter moving at 90 knots. I’m sure I’ll get better.

The weather is hot and dry, when we land dust blows everywhere. I’m sure its been cold back home. I’m getting a great tan. When time permits I work getting some sun and by the time I get home I’ll have you beat.

It’s been a long day and I have another early flight tomorrow. Were supposed to have a Combat Assault first thing in the morning and I have to clean my 60. Rumor is we will be out near the Cambodian border and some things have been happening out there.

I Love You and Miss You
Tom
