Bob, great idea, but remember that when selling anything, you're going to need wide exposure. No matter what you do, you will only get "X" percent of those who are aware of the opportunity.

When we replaced the flagpole on the town green in my hometown in Massachusetts, they sliced the original sitka spruce pole into 1-1/2" disks, (about 8" diameter!) dipped them in polyurethane, stuck on a nice little brass placque, and sold them for enough to pay for the new pole and then some. Everybody in town has one of those slices hanging somewhere in the house.

Why not try it? Just get as much publicity as you possibly can, and don't forget to ASK FOR THE ORDER. In other words, tell people exactly how to buy, right now.

Left to their own devices, people will just never get around to buying. Ask them nicely, make it easy for them, then nudge them to move RIGHT NOW, and you end up with an order. Don't ask, you don't get.
