Now you understand my love for the museum. Recently I told a European master's student the true story of General loan shooting the NORTH Vietnamese Lt. He was shot by Loan on TV. (the media called him a VC " murder" victim). Bullshit he was a north vietnamese army officer in civilian clothes who had just comitted murder! I had a copy of the original film with both voices. The little shit was an NVA Lt. ( Not VC ) a " foriegner" in civies who led a team and shot Loan's aide's family. Loan "conducted a summary court and executed sentence" you'd never know that from the left wing press. But it is true history. General Loan and I ate dinner together one night and discussed it. When I asked him what he would do different he said 'I'd take the cameras" Yes. We will have all the history at the museum. We need support. BTW Loan was NOT the police chief of Saigon but the commander of the Vietnamese Airborne Brigade and a well respected BRAVE honest soldier. And NO One ever brought war crimes charges because a translation of the film would have cleared Gen Loan. as a general, under the geneva convention he was autrhorized to conduct a summary court and execute sentence. The ' Victim" was a damned spy and murder. He got what he deserved!
