Dear Lorraine,

Hi Honey, How are you? I hope school is still going OK. I was glad to read that your troublesome roommate is better. Thank you for stopping in to see my parents again I know they like that and so do I.

As of today I have been here 2 months and I know its not good to think about how much time is left since it makes me home sick but you just can’t help it. Thank you for sending another picture. That ring sure does look good on your finger. When I get home we can get two more one for you and one for me. Things are still quiet here and we have been logging lots of flight time. By the end of tomorrow my ship will have enough hours to need a periodic inspection. That will keep me grounded for about two days unless we are short of flight crews then I might have to fly on another ship. I’m sorry I haven’t been writing on a regular basis I’ll try to do better. You have been doing a great job, please keep it up, mail is all I have to look toward at the end of each day.

The weather here is still hot during the day but it cools down each night then you have to put up with the misquotes. We have nets over our bunks and that helps so sleeping is OK.

I know this letter is short but there is just not much to say. If I keep going I’ll just start telling you how much I miss you and then I’ll be down in the dumps. Tell your roommates I said Hi and I can’t wait to meet them.

Love Tom
